The winner of this year’s Entrepreneur of the Year is C & F Tooling from Athenry, Co. Galway.
The C&F group was established in Ballybane in Galway in 1989 as a small specialist company mainly focused on importing tool making services to Ireland’s established base of multinational companies.
It has now expanded its Galway interests to a purpose built facility in Athenry and progressed to a global solutions provider to the sheet metal industry with operations in the UK, Czech Republic, the Philippines and China.
Its core business is product and tool design, tool manufacture and metal production. Its client base includes IBM, Ingersoll Rand, Glen Dimplex and Sanyo. Sales reached $53m in Ireland in 2007 and $100m globally. It employs 984 people.
