The BBC are running a three part series on trading in shares on the London Stock Market. Part I began last night.
Eight ordinary people are given a million dollars and a fortnight of intensive training to run their own hedge fund. Hedge fund manager Lex van Dam wants to see if they can beat the professionals.
The idea behind the show according to the programme makers is: “to take some of the myths out of trading and show that, with a bit of training, anyone can learn. But it’s much more difficult than proving yourself on The Apprentice, where you’re selling fish. This is much tougher.”
Watch Million Dollar Trader next Monday night (January 21st) at 9pm on BBC2.
