Today will see Minister for Finance Michael Noonan deliver the Irish National Budget. Government have to find a saving of €2bn this year compared to last year when they had to save €3.5bn on their current expenditure. It will be interesting to see if the USC will be reduced and how excise duties and VAT will be hit. There is a need for increased economic growth and an improvement in the employment rate, therefore decisions made should target each of these indicators. Full coverage on RTE today from 1.30pm.
