What is YouthBank?

YouthBank is a unique way of involving young people in community activity. Funded by Ulster Bank, it is run by young people for young people. If you have a good idea, you could get funding for it from Castle Cash – your local YouthBank.

The following are some examples of projects funded by YouthBank:

  • Young people from the Afesca Youth Advice Café were awarded €950 to update their café and  provide a safe and welcoming space for young people in the community who would normally just hang about the town. (Tuam YouthBank, Galway)
  • ‘Off the Streets’ Project – a group produced a comic that explored alcohol and drug misuse, suicide and local environmental issues. (£500, Foyle YouthBank)
  • 5 young people completed a course in DJ skills and produced a recorded tape of the music they mixed on the turntables. (Artillery YouthBank, North Belfast).

The Castle Cash YouthBank is run by Ronan Molloy, Alan Gavin, Darren Brogan and Niall McCormick.
